About

Sarah is a clinical social worker who owns a private practice based out of Poughkeepsie, NY. Her practice specializes in children and families, ages 2-early adulthood as well as adults.  She focuses on helping children and their families lead happier, healthier lifestyles through the use of various evidence based practices.

Her specialties include, but are not limited to, Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, behavioral issues, parent training, self-esteem issues, and family counseling. Her business is unique in that she believes a collaborative approach is most beneficial, therefore she focuses on collaboration with schools, primary care providers, psychiatrists/nurse practitioners, as well as other providers involved in each client’s care. Sarah’s beliefs, training, and experiences have served as evidence that one cannot treat a child outside of their environment and as such, her collaborative approach has helped many families meet their personal and clinical goals.

Her mission is to ensure that every child and family in her care receives exceptional care, complete treatment with a better understanding of their diagnosis and how best to manage their symptoms, as well as reach their full potential to lead a happier, healthier, and more abundant life.

Mental illness has such a negative stigma in our society and as a result of that stigma, many never reach out for help. Often, when one does obtain the courage to seek help, they find the services they receive to be less than ideal or even not helpful at all, thus furthering their resistance to treatment.  It is Sarah’s goal to ensure the quality of care provided allows for her clients to feel as though they are more than a diagnosis or a “label” and that they are capable of leading a life they always wished to lead. She believes in a strength based, client centered approach to help her clients gain the confidence needed to meet their goals.

In addition to outpatient counseling services, Sarah also provides clinical supervision to therapists looking to obtain hours for licensure. Lastly, Sarah also provides 1:1 as well as group consults for therapists looking to begin their private practices.
